Hensick

IMO, he's trade bait for the deadline.

He had his chance with the Avs earlier this year and didn't pan out, and I think that was his last chance with the club (as said, he's been passed on the depth chart due to contract issues). That said, he's dominating the AHL and could be an interesting piece for a team who decides to give up on their season and is looking for an offensive punch.

EDM's too small already, CAR's pretty deep with players who are "close", and Hensick doesn't seem to be Burke's type of player so TOR would be out. Maybe COL and NYI, a team known for second-chances (see: Moulson, Schremp), will hook up in a Witt-for-Hensick type deal. - studley49

Great job Angus, with my West columns this year I've had the opportunity to research the Avs quite a bit this season. Another player that might be very very interesting from a fantasy perspective is T.J. Hensick. He kinda got the shaft a bit early in the season, but in the AHL he's been tearing it up (42 points in 32 contests). If it wasn't for his one-way contract he'd be up with the big club right now lighting it up with all the young guys. So chalk up another young talent on the horizon for the Avs - Ryan Ma

No, Tavares was NYI's guy. Compare NYI's core to COL's: guys like Stastny, Hejduk and Wolski are a hell of an upgrade for the young guys to play with when compared to Nielsen, Hunter, Park, and Weight.

I think the difference between squads is the fact that COL's youth (basically, everyone in this article) can be considered secondary scoring whereas the Isles have to rely on Tavares, Bailey, Okposo, etc. for their primary scoring while guys like Schremp and Comeau are the secondary guys. - studley49
