Trevor,

Do you remember last season in March when Elliott won eight games in a row? I would say he has clearly shown he can handle consecutive games. While I agree he has not played well in THIS month's stretch of consecutive games, there's no way you can say he's less talented or capable than he was last year. He's not very focused as we can all see and he's not making the timely save, especially tonight...and Toskala did.

My discussion of him above is not meant to necessarily be praiseworthy, it's only to point out that he's evolving, albeit slowly, and gaining experience with every game he plays. Every goalie does, whether they win or lose. Elliott isn't very valuable from a fantasy perspective right now, but that's something we all already know.

The key is to realize what talent he has right now, and how, if he figures out his mental lapses and how to stay focused, everything could snap into place and he could win eight straight games again. He's done it once - he's absolutely capable of doing it again.

Probably not anymore now that Leclaire is coming back soon though! =D

Terrible.
Weak backhander from blake through his legs and another almost goal (if it were not for Philips quick stick work) through his arms. He had real trouble seeing the puck tonight. I would agree that he is an average backup, nothing more. - paul faure

I'm going to have to disagree with you on your assessment of Elliot. He hasn't shown has capable of taking on consecutive games yet. As a backup, he's as good as it gets, and he can make those key saves at times, but those tend to be irrelevant when you allow as many run of the mill shots as he does. Out of the past 13 he's played, I'd have to say 4-5 have been respectable turnouts. Not praise worthy imo... - Trevor Mark
