Thanks. Varly uses it more than most other goalies. I think the main thing is to realize it's not really a style, but more of just a technique. It's not used often because it is so hard to do. It's a flashy move but it's effective when used correctly. I am actually kind of surprised to see it being used more because it's kind of like a waste of effort. I had noticed Varly doing exactly what you described and thought he was being too active in the net. You often descibe a goaltender that is in the zone as playing relaxed like Brodeur or price when they are &quot;on&quot;.

This new style does look like it takes a strong core and may lead to injury but it does cover more top shelf opportunities....Good article - J Haid</description>
