I always get excited when a player is on pace to break some sort of record, but am consistently disappointed when injury cuts his legs out from underneath him. Here are some recent examples of when a player was on insanely hot streak and injury came in. Ovechkin to start year. - UBI Crosby recent goal scoring craze - LBI Luongo last year when he had 4 shutouts in 6 games - LBI Obviously a very small sample of cases, but there are many more. My point is that it is so frustrating to think "well what if that guy didn't get injured" how many points would he have.
