RE: Kopitar

Keep in mind these are just my thoughts, and I don't have any substantial evidence to back any of this...

Kops I think settles around the 95 point mark at the end of the year, which is pretty good in itself, just not the 110-115 Crosby/Ovechkin/Malkin variety. Heatley I think gets back towards his old ways of playing with a playmaker and tallying 100-105 points.

If you want it broken down a bit further probably roughly 60 points in the remaining 58 contests for Kops.

Around 70 in the remaining 57 for Heater.

Even further for Kops, probably around 9 in his next 15 until the Boxing Day matchup against the Coyotes, which is possibly a return date for Smyth, then 51 in the next 43 to finish the season...

I'd say around a 10 point spread in points between Kops and Heater from here on out, and roughly 5-10 overall come season's end. - Ryan Ma

RE: Helm

WW he doesn't get enough ice-time or SOG to warrant a pick up. Didn't think he was worth mentioning to be honest. - Ryan Ma

RE: Zetterberg

My bad guys... I went off the positions based on NHL.com, where I got all the stats from and they have Zetterberg listed as a left wing instead of center. I covered wingers last week, which at the time I'd thought I'd wait till this week and chuck him as a center, but completely forgot about him this week.

Anyways

Zetterberg: 87 SOG, 20:03 overall, and 3:37 PP... I'd put a stand pat on him. The SOG and ice-time is there, but he doesn't have the same support as he has had the last couple of years. Spending 35.94% of his ice-time last year with either Franzen-Samuelsson, or Cleary-Hossa, or Datsyuk-Cleary, will certainly help generate more point potential than 34.63% of his ice-time with Bertuzzi-Cleary, or Williams-Cleary or Datsyuk-Holmstrom this year... with that said, without the depth as they have had in recent years, it might put more emphasis on Zetterberg to have to carry more of the offensive load, which might help him elevate his point status on the year. I think he'll settle around the 85-90 point range, but he'll be hard pressed to get anything more than that. - Ryan Ma

hahaha as I read the Detroit chart I suspected that I'd see you posting here, Sentium. I have to agree though; not including Zetterberg is suspect. It's not like he even has dual eligibility in Yahoo these days. - Sami

Gabriel, WW stands for waiver wire, meaning that you should only pick those guys up if you can get them for free without giving away any worthwhile assets. - sentium

Hey,
The 1st time I read the article, I didn't know what WW was and I still don't know! I'm assuming it's players to stay away from but can someone confirm exactly?
Thanks

Why no mention of Zetterberg and, to a lesser degree, Helm for Detroit? Zetterberg has been playing center for years and years... I mean, you include Marleau, who has been playing faaaaaar more on the wing than Zetterberg the last few years. Not having Z as a center is asinine at best. - sentium
