You're absolutely right. He lost his focus while on the bench and has a broken cheekbone for his troubles. :) - Eric Daoust

This year more than ever, resting goalies is crucial to long-term success. Only a handful of goalies can handle this crazy workload during the Olympics. Nabokov, Lundqvist, Kiprusoff, Turco, Thomas, Brodeur are the ones I can think of off-hand without seeing a list of all the teams. I can't believe Quick has played so many minutes already. It makes no sense to me. I never like to say I don't have the answers, or at least some insight as to why a goalie situation is taking place, but I have NO CLUE, unless I get to talk to coaches or Quick himself, why he's playing so much. Ersberg is good!!! - Justin Goldman

Justin - excellent take on the importance of rest (both physical and mental). LA needs to give Quick some rest which will only make him and his team better. - Paul Robinson

That's pretty much the main question surrounding Avs goaltending right now. Why is Budaj still a part of this team while Tyler Weiman is perfectly capable of playing behind Anderson. Same thing when the Avs had Bacashihua last year, who is know ripping it up with Hershey in the AHL. It just doesn't make sense. - Justin Goldman

Interesting why Colorado wouldn't go out and get an older steady backup to play behind Anderson like Fernandez rather than relying on Budaj. - Rad64
