Thanks Ryan, great stuff! Sully had a pretty big game yesterday, a lot of ice time, i think i'll be a little bit more patient with him. Keep it up! - Uncle Tony

RE: O'Sullivan

I think he's fine, all the indicators are there for him to succeed, the ice-time + SOG are all there. I think it's just a bit of bad luck really. I also think that he'll get bumped up to the top-line with Hemsky and Horcoff pretty soon. The offense has been struggling and they need some type of spark to boost the offense.

I personally like Flash, cause he's seems to be playing on a whole different level. Affy is looking strong too, if you have those two options available I'd make the swap, but keep O'Sullivan in the back of your mind for future purposes. - Ryan Ma

WW stands for waiver wire, as in pick them up for free if you can, but don't give up any assets. - sentium

RE: Samuelsson

I think he can keep it up to be honest. If you look at his stats, the main reason why he's never had more than 50 points was because he was always buried in the depth of Detroit forwards:

2005-06: He scored 45 points, but had Williams, Holmstrom, Lang, Shanny, Zetterberg and Datsyuk ahead of him on the depth charts.

2006-07: He had 34, but had Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Lang, and Cleary ahead of him.

2007-08: Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Cleary, Hudler

2008-09: Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Hossa, Franzen, Hudler, Filppula. Cleary

So if you look at the breakdown he has always had 2 big time players playing in front of him... plus a few decent 55-65 point guys for competition taking points away from him.

This year in Vancouver the offensive depth isn't as stiff as it was in Detroit. If you look at it, there's probably really only the Sedins ahead of him on the depth charts and maybe possibly Kesler. He's never been 4th on the depth charts before, which is why I think he'll keep it up.

Also he's garnering plenty of PP ice-time, where he's never seen that in Detroit. He has 7 PPP already, compared to the 13, 14, 11, 20 the previous 4 years.

Sedin's return will probably slow him down a bit, but I still think he'll remain on the top PP line, and still maintain a top six role, he'll be fine.

RE: Vermette

Sorry, I went according to the positions that www.nhl.com listed for the players when looking up the stats. So some were listed as C so I'll leave them for next week.

If you want a quick off the top of my head answer, I'd say sell, but I'll give you a more indepth answer next week. - Ryan Ma

What a great job breaking it down.
Couple of comments/questions: Samuelsson, you think he can keep the pace considering his best year is 45pts, has a history of injury and is no spring chicken? Was on the top line when Sedin got hurt but has been on 2nd for the better part of the last 10 games. What's his fate when Sedin returns?
O'Sullivan, his ice-time has stayed consistent, how long will the coach be patient?
Are Afinogenov and Fleischmann better options (on WW)? - UncleTony
