They lost Franzen and Filppula for extended periods of time and their goaltending has been inconsistent at best. Holmstrom leads the team with 7 goals and the 2nd highest goalscorer(s) is Maltby and Ericsson tied for 2nd. All of that coupled with a terrible October and the Wings are... 4 points back of 1st place in the central.
