Zatkoff was very close to making the Top-50 list for the first time, but I decided to go with Peter Delmas instead. Believe me, I know of Zatkoff's great play to start this season, but in my eyes he is not a long-term keeper. Kind of like why I don't have Ben Bishop, Jeff Frazee, Tyler Plante or many other quality AHL goalies on the list. But Zatkoff is closer than anyone else to making the list. I'm pretty sure he will be there next month if he continues to impress me.

I wouldn't bail on Carey Price yet unless you absolutely have to. The kid is going to be very, very good when he re-gains his confidence. But he is developing a 'streaky' identity. I couldn't imagine the scrutiny and media whirlwind he has to deal with right now, but Montreal coaching staff is doing the right thing by playing the winning, hot goalie. Every team should do that regardless of who is the starter and who is the backup. It's not like they are writing off Price for the season, they are just doing whatever it takes to win games...and Halak is winning games.

I would definitely NOT trade Price for Pavelec, Rinne OR M. Smith. Just stand pat and let's see how he plays when Halak finally loses a game or two. Price will come back strong. - Justin Goldman

Top-50 Keeper League Prospects

You put Bernier 1st. Zatkoff is not in the list of your 50th best young prospects. But, anyway, I see him great and we will have a tremendous fight between those two in the AHL. Today, day for day, Zatkoff is the best save% stopper in that league. He respond to Bernier shutout by a shutout the following game. To follow...;) - Demers Michel

Do I bail on Carey Price? Is life in Montreal proving too much for him? It's an awfully big city for a kid...
(I know what's it's like in Montreal, I used to commute to work there...)

Are his d-men insufficient, or are Halak's starts the real measure of the situation there?

I hate bailing on a golden boy (WJC) on a stressed team, but should I be dealing him for Pavelec, Rinne, or Mike Smith, if I can get upgrades elsewhere? - Steffen Knippel
