Alex Giroux

I'm not sure Giroux will ever get a chance in the N. He is a pure sniper, who doesn't like to work hard. I've watched him sluff through practice after practice. He has great positioning and a great shot but doesn't bring that much else to a team. He doesn't hit much or hard, he circles above the line in the defense zone looking for a breakout. He'd do better to set his sights on the KHL. My $.02. - Grizzled Vet

Loktionov

Don't forget that Loktionov played only 51 games as he missed 17 due to injury (which cost him a spot in the Canada-Russia series and WJHC). Also, of his 66 points, over 40 (give or take) came in the final 30 games. I had the numbers before but he produced like an 80-85-point player in the second half.
Yeah, toss in his playoffs and AHL debut, he's looking like a solid 5th-Round selection for Los Angeles. - hojusimpson

Ha, how long have writers here been touting the merits of picking LA players? 3 years? I guess if you say it long enough you are bound to be right eventually. - StatsJunkie

Brett MacLean & Bobby Sanguinetti

Great points! Would you take Loktionov over Mikael Backlund? Backlund looks like he's struggling in the A...

Just thought I'd also add:

Brett MacLean has 6 goals and 8 points in 7 games
Bobby Sanguinetti has a goal and 7 points in 6 games - Andrew
