I'm down for a Winnipeg Dobber Night

Hey, I would definitely be down for a monthly/bi-weekly Dobber Night in Winnipeg. The guys I work with on my website are sports knowledgeable but not when it comes to fantasy sports so I would love to shoot the shit with someone who knows what they're talking about.

Give me a shout at sports@retouchmedia.com. - Jon Villa

this article seems like it has come a bit too soon. sure, it identifies some players who might be flashes in the pan, but it's not really going to help anyone make an informed roster decision. It's so early in the decision that the possibility of statistical anomaly is too great. Patient GMs are rewarded over those who make important choices based on a limited sample. - Repent Tokyo

Chris - Just so i'm getting the most from this info, should i be targetting those on the decline or those on the rise in a trade/pick up? The reason I ask is becasue most on the rise are already held but a few of the decliners have been dropped, should they be looked as possible pick ups as they will improve? - UKflames

Andy Stewart says "Best turnout we had for our traders night, was at Hooters @ Polo Park."

Burnsy says "We could hold an evening of interpreive dance based on the romantic stylings of Dobber and Angus waxing each other's backs .... and there would be a great turn out at Hooter's" - Chris Burns

I'm disappointed to see goaliepost.com starting to charge. $10/year is a meager fee, and I can't help but think that revenue could've been more easily garnered via Google AdSense, etc.

$15 for Dobber's guide is easy to swallow because of the in-depth previews and info, updates, and all of the supplemental services on his site. But another $10 for goalie updates? C'mon guys... - Drew

Your never too young to hang out, listen and learn. I think its great to have these events. Dobber had Marlies night last year, I popped up stairs to meet and chat a bit with him nd gave him a quick insider report on the marlies and speciffically who would fight on that night and gave Dobber the info that Deveaux had a bad hand and was unable to go. Im only 24 myself but any chance u get like this, take advantage, hell you can meet good people and hear good information!

Good on yea burnsy! - Jason Banks

Is Drewiskie really "on the rise"? I mean, yes, he has a goal and an assist in 2 games but the goal was an empty netter. I've been thinking about picking him up but his lack of a true fantasy pedigree (no real history of big points in the past) has me thinking that he's just having a really good week, but then I see things like the fact that he's paired up with Doughty and it gives me pause...just looking for a better defined opinion. - Reddawg

Good list, I agree with almost all of them. I would have added Gustavsson (TOR) to rising, and Samsonov (CAR) to dropping. Also, I find this goalie site to be very useful (and free): http://www.dailyfaceoff.com/category/between-the-posts - shook81
