I have no doubt in his ability, just that I think 50-55 is a huge stretch, definitely not realistic. Maybe as a possible maximum ceiling, but no way I'm going into the season thinking he's a 50-55 point player. Only 13 D cracked 50 points last season, and all of which were on high scoring teams or top defensive pairings. 50-55 point range we're talking about guys like Weber, Souray, Campbell, and Chara... Edler is not there yet.

I would have probably believed you when they moved Ohlund, and it was just Bieska, Salo and Edler... but then they added Ehrhoff and Schneider, and face it they didn't add those guys for $6 million in salary just to make them the 4th and 5th D-men to fill out the roster. Those guys are going to play... - Ryan Ma

Questionable Pick: I was a big fan of Edler after last post-season, but with all the off-season moves that the Canucks made, Edler has drawn the short end of the stick. With Sami Salo, Christian Ehrhoff, Kevin Bieksa, Mathieu Schneider and Willie Mitchell all in line to compete in playing time with Edler, you would have to think how productive is he going to be as a fifth or sixth defender in Vancouver?

Just a comment here from a Canucks fan... Edler may have been the 5th or 6th defender on the Canucks a couple years ago, but I think this is the year you will see him become the Canucks top pairing and best all around defenseman by mid-year.... 50-55 points is a very realistic estimate for him this season.

RE: Tkachuk

Keep in mind that we run 3 at each position, so it's a much shallower talent pool than normal 12 team leagues.

Also this is a one-year league, Tkachuk loses huge value in keeper leagues considering he's probably 1-2 years away from retiring, so it's not surprising to see him on the WW in keeper leagues.

Also I had 3 LW already, but I had Elias too, Tkachuk was my 4th LW which I was going to spot start anyways. I was fully planning on using him the way I described in the blurb above, probably full-time the first 10 games, then maybe a few more (10-15) after that and only against favourable matchups. Bit of a reach, but his usually hot starts made me invest in him earlier.

Taking Tkachuk that high is crazy, especially considering the players that were still available. He's on waivers in all 3 of my keeper leagues. - Werd

Nice work :)

All I can say though, is that Pianowski has a Killer team. I drool at that. Gaborik in the 5th was interesting and Carcillo in the 15th round of a roto is pretty tasty too.

There were a few guys that didn't get that much love in this draft though. You made some nice picks, so it was really good.

I like Quick over Smith though :) - HS_1001

I did one draft on yahoo where I went goalies early...I think it is the way to go in a standard yahoo draft. I also had success drafting top tier defensemen early...they are really underrated in roto leagues. - derek
