Wouldn't it be even more ironic if as a result of not making the team and being waived (he has to clear waivers to be demoted) Schremp ends up on the Isle having the impact Comrie failed to have last year?

Local media have to say he'll be in the top-6 because they need to hype him up - he's the team's big summer move other than Bulin (with apologies to Matt Nickerson and Dean Arsene). I doubt anything is sewn before camp other that Hemsky being on the top line. New coach means anything's up for grabs in the top-9. Comrie joins 6 other players competing for 5 top-6 spots (Horcoff, O'Sullivan, Penner, Gagner, Cogliano, Nilsson), and the 2 losers face competition with Moreau and Pisani for 3 third line spots, with Schremp, Pouliot, Potulny and Brule also possibilities to put themselves into the mix in camp. With 10 players (not including the four prospects just mentioned) vying for top-9 spots, someone's an odd man out now, so they may still look to pull off a trade.

Wouldn't it be ironic if this was the final nail in the Robbie Schremp Oiler coffin, given he was selected with the 1st round pick and biggest part of the return when they traded Comrie to Philly. - Mervillian

Local media (Tensor-630CHED, TEAM1260) have been stating (strongly) that Comrie will play the wing. Top 6. - Darcy Sulz

I think he said he is playing wing for the last couple of years in a presser today... so I would expect this

Penner Horcoff Hemsky
Comrie Gagner O'Sullivan - FTO

I have Cogliano on the wing - he's pretty much a winger now. - Dobber

Really tough to figure out what the lines might be at this point.

So where does that put Cogliano? he was slotted for second line duty, no? - James
