i suppose it would depend on your cap issues and the auction values. if it's me i sign Backstrom for the rookie amount and then i go hard after one of the big guns in the auction in an attempt to get him for a price i like. hope that helps. - shallowfrozenwater

Wings, it's a close call on Gomez and i really did struggle with it but i honestly think that Franzen and Ott are better options in this system. - shallowfrozenwater

Hey Ian - thanks a lot for the audit of my team. It's awesome to get your expert input on this because I was really struggling with those last few keeps.
Thanks man. This is a big help.
I've had Gomez on my team since my first day in this league so it's hard to let him go, but I guess I need to cut the cord sometime right? - West Coast Wing

I guess I should clarify, it's just a points only pool for forwards and defenceman, goalies get 2 points for a win, -1 for a loss, and 3 extra points for a shutout. - Seppuku

I am in a Salary draft pool that is non rotisserie, I'm just wondering if you had 1st overall pick this year who would you take? Nicklas Backstrom is still on rookie salary ($850,000 per year) so do you think he is the best #1 pick? Or would you spend the $9 million on either Malkin or Ovechkin??? - Seppuku

yeah, i expect he'll take a goalie with his first pick but that won't be until the last pick in the 1st round. who knows, maybe trading from depth to get a goalie keeper will be the best strategy. right now though, keeping the skaters was the smarter play. - shallowfrozenwater

I don't see anything about goalie scoring - but please, please, please take a goalie with your first pick... or if trading is an option, try to use your depth to your advantage and move Vokoun+ to get an upgrade (in this case, a keeper) in net ;D - studley49

yeah, it's a 10 team league so that just means that he had to trade for one of the big 3 without giving up another of the big 3. possible but relatively rare. can you tell he's the reigning champ? - shallowfrozenwater
