This has the Burke stamp all over it. Change the toughness immediately. Shame they have already given up on Stralman imo. Yes he got a second round pick too, but for a 4th line veteran player. Stuart is an oh by the way....

Very short sided imo. - Ron`

I like this trade for Calgary, Burke had to move atleast 1 dman- for Toronto's sake I wouldve thought it wouldve been better to move an older one,or one with less offensive upside than Stralman. Primeau is an expensive 4th line PK'er, who may take icetime from the younger Hansons/Bozek's on their roster. - Rollie1967

Excellent deal for Toronto. The 2nd rounder is the key. Primeau is a handy guy to have on the fourth line. Big, strong, seasoned. Stralman is likely to boot around the NHL as a middling D-man for a number of years. Colin Stuart is a depth guy that is unlikely to get much of a chance. 7th rounders don't generally pan. I believe in the long run, the GMs that sift through these pieces and turn them into solid draft picks, will eventually come out the winner. They may not get that prize piece every time they select some new piece in the draft. Ultimately the only piece that could become a star in this deal is that second rounder! The 7th rounder becoming a star means a lot of teams made a mistake! Good deal for Toronto. Calgary could get a serviceable piece for a few years. - JHM

I've seen more than enough of Stralman to know that he will never be an impact d-man. Good hands and good wheels. But weak like your little sister, not smart positionally, and a timebomb waiting to go off defensively. A 2nd round pick is a blessing. - eyemissgilmour

Exactly the fantasy impact I was thinking.
As a Stralman owner I love it! - bluejays
