Oh, and just read this in the ramblings, but McKegg had 6 PRIMARY assists last night? I wonder how many were Olden goals?

EDIT : And the answer is... none. Olden didn't get a point (went -2 in the 7-5 romp, actually). Olden has 2 goals in 4 games while McKegg has 2g, 7a for 9 points in 5.
Rosehill was so unnoticeable last game, not surprising.

Had a few good shifts I found, on the hitting side.

He was the 18th most noticeable skater on the team

I think we'll see some fights tonight- looking forward to it.

Dupuis was a bit less noticable to me... Took me a long time to even realise he was playing.

But this is what will suck with Saturday night shifts - I get to miss Saturday night hockey... BOOOOOOOO!!

Leafs won 6-5 against the Sens. I'm a little too "riled up" to write a formal game-review, but the Leafs played great...for 50 minutes. A game lasts 60. Play the whole game boys!

Kessel recorded the first Maple Leafs' hattrick since 2009. Great game by him, seems to take a liking to the Senators.

Phaneuf Steamrolled Da Costa...absolutely bone-crushing.

If you guys have any comments about the game, leave them below...what you liked, what you didn't. I'll try and respond to any of them.

Didn't see any of it. All I know is I was tracking the box score and when I saw it ended 6-5, I went "Holy shit".

Seems like the Leafs continue to play for 40-50 minutes instead of 60 minutes each game. The 1st period in MTL and now the last 10 in this one.

I finally get the perfect occasion to wear my Kessel jersey for the first time ^^ Hat-trick in a 6-5 win against the Sens. Couldn't ask for more.

Seems like Orr was a needed offensive weapon :P

And glad to see Lupul doing well too. Just imagine when we get Conolly and MacArthur back in there. Should be one hell of a blast.

What I've seen up to now shows that :

- Norris nominee Dion is back (25 points in his last 38 GP)
- This team could do some serious damage. While not up there for a Stanley Cup run quite yet, they're going to give a few teams a run for their money.
- Steckel, Dupuis and Lombardi just might end up being the most underrated acquisitions we've made this summer.
- Komisarek seems to be playing much better then last year... in it's entirety
- And Kessel might be a legit threat for 40 goals this year. Maybe 35 is a closer expectation, but look out...

I'm still thinking we'll end up in the 7th-10th range in the East. It's only 2 games in (we know what happened last year after a 4-0 start).

Kessel is now a threat offfensively and defensively. His play in the defensive zone is turning into chances, which is great.

If he can keep this up, he will get 35+ this year, no doubt.

I hate Wilson for the way he's handling Franson. For starters Komisarek sucks. Secondly, they're trying to force him to play left-side when he's played right-side his entire career and that's where he's effective for. So even if he does get in he'll probably play like crap because he's on the wrong side.

maybe they are trying to "show off" Komisarek in the hopes another team lacking D depth may make a move for him ........ unlikely? yes but one can hope!

I agree about Franson though, putting him on the opposite side is a big change, takes that extra split second to pull the puck off the wall and switch to the forehand and that is a bigger adjustment then it might sound.
