I need to make 2-for-1 deals so I don't end up dropping decent players (team in sig).
So I was thinking of offering Bergeron and E. Kane for Datsyuk and a third rounder. Is this a fair deal?

It really depends on what the other team's needs are. If he's weak on keepers and he's not making a push to win this year he might do it. I'm gonna guess he'll turn it down but you really never know. Worst case scenario is he turns it down and you come back with a stronger offer.

I would easily reject that offer if I owned Datsyuk. You are targeting a top scorer tight now. Bergeron/Hall or Duchene/Cammalleri, Parise/Kane if I was him. And even then... The owner of Pavel as a bad team? He needs 1 for 2?
What good player don't you want to drop? Grabner? Your keepers look fine to me. |

Thanks for the advice. The reason why I'm trying to make a 2-for-1 deal is because I want to keep Grabner, and there's no guarantee he'd still be available in our pool for the draft.
Our pool uses an auction process. In the summer, after every one has dropped their players, all the other owners have a chance to bid on available players with their picks. So, for example, if I drop Grabner, someone could bid the fifth round pick (say 47th overall). Then someone could try to top that with their fifth round pick, which could be 42nd overall. And so on. Whoever is successful wins that player, and I would get that person's pick for the draft. So I'm worried that I could lose Grabner for a fourth rounder or worse, when I think he's worth more. So I'm hopeful that by making a 2-for-1 trade and upgrading my team at the same time, I can also keep Grabner and not worry about losing him.
