I'm excited as I get to watch the game tonight. Going over to my mother-in-laws early to catch it.

I'm curious about the whole Kubina being benched to protect him as an asset. He's a type of guy that's been linked to the Sharks before. Would be hilarious if they decide to trade for him before the game and just has to walk across the rink a la Mike Fontenot of the Giants when they acquired him in between a double header between the Cubs on a Saturday.

I watched the first two periods and thought it was a good game. Was surprised to see the trade happen during the game there or just before. It's a good depth move without giving up too much. Like I said elsewhere, I am curious if this is a depth move that's a precursor to something else a la Rick Nash (though I don't think they need him).

Sharks Lost Murray for a little bit the other night. Vlasic gets hit in the head and leaves the ice bleeding. Hopefully no concussion or any other damage. Pavelski takes a shot to the head from Lidstrom, and Colin White takes a puck on the inside of the skate. I just hope this game doesn't cripple their playoff run. So many fluky plays today. I'm not even concerned about the win, just more concerned about the health of the team after today. Hope Pavelski is truly okay. He's not leaving, but he's a bold dude.

I don't think DW likes the market for defense at all. If I was him, I probably wouldn't either. His window is closing on this team being viable for a long time. I say 3 more seasons and this it's scrap it and retry with a new group for the Cup. So I don't think he wants to give up picks too much like he used to.

Only way I see him getting a d-man is if we get one coming back in a huge blockbuster for Nash and I don't think that will happen anymore.
