I think I remember reading recently how high Dobber was on Jamie Benn. Saying he could be an 80 pt player next year. I'm wondering what others think as I never get to see Dallas play.

The reason I ask is I've been offered Benn+2 assets (maybe Raask and Brendan Smith) for Eric Staal. I dont really like the trade much but the fact that the guy in first in our keeper is considering moving Benn has me thinking of many counters.

I saw him and I really like him. I think his production is lower because he is played on the 3rd line but he is definitely a top line talent. I think he is groomed to become one of the first 2 line center in Dallas, would replace Richards or Ribeiro. When Rask becomes a No1 again, that would be a good trade for you, even if Staal is the best player of the group now.

I'm thinking of acquiring Benn for Kesler, mostly because of his LW eligibility in my keeper pool.

i think that could be an alright trade but really depending on what ur goalie situation is. to me though i think 80pts is a strech for benn. i love the way this guy plays and i think he will be a force down the road but 80pts could be a strech.

for one he has had issues with concussions already. i know its a little early but the way he plays could cause him to become a band aid boy imo. i feel like he is more in the range of a 65-70pt guy that could reach higher if everything aligns but his injuries really scare me

Yes I need a goalie big time. Next year we are adding an extra goalie to the requirements so its gonna put a major demand on them.

The key for me is pegging a number for Benn going forward. If 80 pts is a stretch then there is no point moving a top 10 player in Staal. If he can be Loui Eriksson (or within range) who I was confident to be a 80 pt player this past offseason then it makes sense. One thing that seems obvious is that Marc Crawford coaches offensive teams. Any other opinions on Benn pls chime in!

I really like Benn but unless you NEED a LW and goalie and have an abundance of centres I would decline.

Im a huge Benn fan. I believe he'll hit 80 for sure in the next couple years. He produces already on the third line and get some pp time.
Now; that said. I'd take Eric Staal any day I'd the week. Even with rask as part if the package.
