Really cool to have the perspective of a die hard fan! Is Bryan little gong to ever be atlanta's number one center? Love how hard he plays, but does he have the skillset to be the teams top pivot?

Bryan Little could very well be the number one center in Atlanta one day. He definitely has the talent and skillset. IMO, he is the best center on the Thrashers right now. He's one of the more well rounded centers that plays hard, backchecks, and brings 100% every night. Right now though, I'm not even sure who to consider the top center, or top line for that matter. Craig Ramsay hasn't really designated a top line. When asked about the top line, he usually says he just likes to split time evenly and give everyone a chance to play. I think this is partly because the Thrashers don't really have stand out forwards to throw right on the top line to actually consider it one. Everyone is pretty much on the same level. There is no real gap between their best player (whoever you want to argue that player is), and the players following him. Obviously, no matter what Ramsay says, everyone has to have a top line. On the depth chart, Peverley is listed as the top center, Little second. Peverley's average time on ice is 19:20, compared to Little's 17:32. Not really a big gap between TOI. The top center spot is anyones to take with no real competition just yet. Burmistrov should challenge for it in the future but no one really knows who it will be. Bryan Little has the tools for it and is definitely a candidate.

A couple of updates from the Thrashers practice so far today + injury updates as well. (I'll most likely edit this same post with any more practice updates from today, if necessary, instead of making multiple posts)
(Reported by Chris Vivlamore) 9:56am- Evander Kane on ice for start of Thrashers practice wearing yellow non-contact jersey. 9:59am- Andrew Ladd and Tobias Enstrom not taking part in Thrashers practice Tuesday. Evander Kane left ice as session began. 10:13am- Thrashers practice lines: 19-47-18, 45-10-22, 15-14-80, 36-8-27 UPDATE- Evander Kane will not play Wednesday vs. Caps. Andrew Ladd questionable. Enstrom out 2-4 weeks, will miss All-Star Game This is certainly not what the Thrashers need right now. Hopefully Enstrom recovers fully.

Hey ASF,
I have read your view on Bogosian - nicely explained. However, given Enstrom's injury, do you think this will give him more opportunity (albeit short-term) to improve his play, and production? Would he be now on PP1 with Byfuglien?

Quote:
Oduya-Byfuglien Hainsey-Bogosian Meyer-Sopel I would personally like to see Arturs Kulda get the call up and play over Meyer. This is a good question about the powerplay. As for the top powerplay unit, I'm not sure what Ramsay is going to do. I have a hunch that it might be Oduya manning the point along side Byfuglien. I expect Bogosian to get some powerplay time though, if not with the first unit. I'll keep you updated on this matter when the Thrashers face the Capitals tomorrow night.

Thanks a lot - much appreciated. I have a waiver claim for him in a very deep league (open slot) so don't have anything to lose. Low risk, potential high(er) reward.

Not sure what to make of this but Dustin Byfuglien is NOT on the ice for today's practice. Just five defensemen skating. Waiting for an official reason on this.
Andrew Ladd is skating but no word if he will play tonight. The Thrashers are set to take on the Washington Capitals tonight.

Washington (27-14-9) at Atlanta (23-19-9)
Washington, 2nd, Southeast -- 11-9-3 Road Atlanta, 3rd, Southeast -- 11-9-5 Home The Atlanta Thrashers are set to take on division rivals the Washington Capitals. The Thrashers have been through a rough patch this past month and look to go into the all star break with some momentum. After losing three in a row and four out of it's last five, the Thrashers find themselves just barely hanging onto a playoff berth. With an unfortunate injury to top defensemen Tobias Enstrom, and still ailing injuries to Evander Kane and Jim Slater, other players must step up and provide offense. The Thrashers have fared pretty well against the Capitals this season holding a record of 3-1-1 against them. This is the final time these two teams will meet in the regular season. Atlanta is still in position to make the playoffs and the result of this game is huge. Notes* Evander Kane will not play Wednesday vs. Caps. It looks from pre-game warm-up that Andrew Ladd will play and Nigel Dawes will be scratch. Via BenThrashers -- Thrashers starters: Bogosian,Hainsey,Little, Stewart, Cormier and Pavelec

I'll post a game review and my thoughts on the Thrashers going into the all star break sometime tomorrow.
But I do have some late night important news involving the Thrashers. Reported by Darren Dreger--- On the day word leaks Atl is willing to move Antropov, Hainsey and Modin. All 3 factor in the gwg in a 1-0 win over the Capitals.
