I like McBain here. Maybe he doesn't have quite the goal potential that Franson does but he's got better point potential and based on his competition is a way better bet to get those points. Consider the glut of defensemen that Nashville has. Franson's always gonna be in tough to get those offensive minutes. McBain only has Corvo and Pitkanen to battle with. He's a smart and efficient puck mover who I see getting a lot of points in Carolina.

McBain for me as well. I'm not happy with Franson's situation especially in the future. Ryan Ellis will be the guy to have on that team soon.

For now...the safe bet is McBain...that being said...you could probably acquire Franson for a lot less. I think eventually Nashville will move a d-man or two for some offensive help, with Weber, Suter, Franson, and Ellis in the wings. With their commitment to keeping salary down....I could see them eventually dealing Weber and going with the other 3. If Franson was to be dealt somewhere else...he could be absolute gold though. He does shoot the puck a ton!
