Here's a quick one for ya!
GMG's Market Buzz - P.A Parenteau + Deep League Bargain Bins Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau who turns 28 in March was selected #264 (round 9) in the 2001 draft. Having played for 4 different AHL teams and 3 NHL teams, P.A seems to have finally found his niche in Long Island. Looking at his career, P.A's been quietly putting up stellar numbers. P.A.P's Career highlights: QMJHL - In his last two seasons, P.A recorded 221 points (84 goals) in 127 games. AHL - 403 points in 450 games and over a PPG since the 06-07 season. NHL - Currently on pace for 21G, 32A, -15, 46PIM, 151 SOG, 25 PPP and 133 Hits. Other notables: At the moment, Parenteau's Cost (600,000$) per Point (28) is $22,222, and he is on pace for $11,653 per Point (53). In the last month, the Moulson - Tavares - Parenteau line has combined for 25 points, good for second in that time span (behind only the Sedins + Burrows). P.A has recorded 8 points in his last 9 games and is a leading contributor to NYI's current 7-1-1 streak. His pace of -15 kind of stands out, but so does everyone else on NYI's roster. On the bright side he's been +3 in his last two games. Another thing to note is that Okposo is due to return for Thursday's game. Meaning it could potentially bump Parenteau off of the top line where he's built some nice chemistry alongside Tavares - we'll soon see. Either way, with a salary of $600,000, P.A makes for a great bargain and it's not too late to acquire him as a buy low. I think by next season he'll sign a two year deal with NYI at 1.75M per year - similar to Dubinsky's current contract. If that's the case and he puts up similar numbers to his end of season pace, P.A will be a very decent pick up in many (if not all) salary cap leagues. So do yourselves a favor and put this guy on your radar. ~ In a Deep League? The following are some bargain bins that might cater your needs (and potentially be available as buy lows): CHI- Brian Bickell: Cost ($541,666) per Point (26) = $20,833 (Pace - $11,178) NYR - Brian Boyle**: Cost ($525,000) per Point (23) = $22,826 (Pace - $13,083) STL- Matt D'Agostini: Cost ($550,000) per Point (24) = $22,917 (Pace - $12,576) NSH - Sergei Kosti.tsyn: Cost ($550,000) per point (23) = $23,913 (Pace - $12,248) -- NYI - Blake Comeau: Cost ($650,000) per point (28) = $23,214 (Pace - $12,173) TOR - Clarke MacArthur: Cost ($1,100,000) per point (37) = $29,730 (Pace - $15,952) COL - David Jones: Cost ($877,500) per point (28) = $29,911 (Pace - $15,685) NYR - Derek Stepan: Cost ($820,333) per point (27) = $30,383 (Pace - $17,414) **Brian Boyle has a combined rotoscore of 1279 (Fantrax - G,A,+/-,PIM,PPP,Hits,Blk) and is ranked 17th in the league in that format. He's currently ahead of Backstrom, Carter, E. Staal and yes even Ovechkin. So take a look at your league settings, if this guy isn't picked up (24% in Yahoo leagues) pick him up because guaranteed he's doing better than someone on your team. Happy trading! GMG signing off

Very nice article Gates! Makes me re-think my chance of getting him earlier in the year.

Yeah, I pushed to get him in the offseason in the Z and was successful. I acquired him in the DTDL earlier this month too. 50 point pace for 600,000$ - I'll take it! Not regretting either move.

My biggest concern with Parenteau is sustaining his production down the stretch and beyond this season. The lower-level numbers are encouraging though.
