Default Matt Carkner

I am looking for PIM and I was wondering if it is wise to pick up Carkner. I already have Erik Karlsson on my team at the same position. Thanks.

What does Karlsson have to do with not wanting Carkner?

Yeah, I'm not sure what owning Karlsson has to do w/ owning Carkner, unless your concern is in regards to sharing ice time...or something. They're two different types of player, altogether.

I believe his PIM production has tailed off some from last year when he was an amazing asset to own. He was always very reliable, and not just for major penalties but also minors as well.

While i don't believe he's producing at quite the level as last year, I think he'd still be of considerable value for anyone in need of PIM.

Of course, it's always dependent on the cost to acquire....

To expand on what I said earlier (was heading out the door), Carkner is good if your league has a combination of PIM/Hits/Bks. But his career high is 11 points. I don't see him as a threat to ever exceed that. Last season could have been his perfect storm lol. The Sens were good and he certainly benefited.

And I wouldn't put too much into owning multiple guys from the same team. Your job is to win the pool and if you own many guys from the same team then so be it. And especially in this case there is no overlap between Karlsson and Carkner.

I guess my only concern would be owing two defensemen on an Ottawa team that has weak goaltending and shotty defense. I think I am going to pass. Thanks.
