Default Pick 3 to keep

In a standard format league. You keep 11 at the end of the year, 2 goalie max. I was going to try and keep 3 of these dmen, but i'm loaded with young talent. Would like to unload 1-2 of these guys to upgrade at foward. Who would u keep?

Erik Johnson, John Carlson, Tyler Myers, Alex Pietrangelo, Kevin Shattenkirk, James Wisniewski......Should I just drop Wis and roll the dice on the other three?

I suppose it would be Wisniewski, at first glance. With his +/- being what it is and thinking it's only a matter of time before Subban gets his shit straight and supplants Wisniewski's TOI.

BUT....as of today Wis has earned a keeper role; EJ has not. Say what you will about EJ but he has actually regressed from last year. Not to mention you already have Pietrangelo - who I prefer over EJ anyhow.

There's no logic behind it, but I'm not a fan of owning 2 players of the same position on the same team. Yes, there are always exceptions, but EJ and Pietrangelo ain't one of 'em.

Honestly, if you're going that route, I'd probably first try trading Wis for a forward while his stock is up.

If that's not doable than ultimately I would probably wind up dumping him over EJ, if only for all the hype/hope EJ has surrounding him. But I certainly wouldn't rule out dumping/trading EJ.

I would keep either Shattenkirk or Carlson if I was in your position, you really can't go wrong with either of those guys IMO.

I'm able to keep three of those six defensemen. Sorry if that wasn't clear? I'm leaning towards Myers and Pietrangelo as my first two...

Yeah I was tossing Myers and Carlson back-and-forth, myself. I really don't think you go wrong with either of them.

Its a pretty tough call as we are only half way through the season. Going by what we have seen to date...

Keep: Kevin Shattenkirk, John Carlson, Alex Pietrangelo

While Wis may end up with the most points this year, I think you can replace a guy like him at the draft easier than you could the players above. Most people would draft these three ahead of Wis. People love young players, sometimes, to a fault.
