No better time to try to acquire Ovie than now. Not a trade I would accept, but you did say "starting" offer, so yeah, I think it's fine.

I would turn this down if I owned Ovy but if you can get him for this good on ya.

If you made that offer to me I'd consider if you added some more quality but as it stands I'd turn it down.

Your job isn't to present an offer that is going to be accepted. That would be an overpayment. It's better to start off with a base offer like this one and let the other guy set the bar on how much has to be added from here. Chances are it's far less than what one would anticipate since Ryan and Staal are both significant assets.

i would take that i like ovy over ryan and staal and edler over carlson. Think you would be walking out the winner in the deal.

I still like it. Edler is a solid D, and although you're giving up some youth, the amount you gain with Ovy at LW is worth it.

I don't see Ellis or Carlson in your sig. I'm assuming D-man Ellis?

With Subban, Yandle, Edler, and Martin, you're still sitting pretty good methinks. You'll have to draft blueliners for the farm though.
