FYI
Staal (hand) is expected to undergo X-rays Tuesday evening and could return to the lineup Wednesday or Saturday if everything looks good, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Taking a look at my roster and league stats who would you drop? Should I hold on to Staal and only bring him in if one of my other guys hits the IR? Simmonds, Benn, Hudler, O. Jokinen are also on the wire and on my watch list due to their recent play. |

They broke up Crosby-Malkin duo which is bad news for Malkin but great news for Staal

When a guy's been out as long as he has, I'd keep him stashed on IR until he gets his sea legs. Look at Savard: Anyone who activated him as soon as Boston did hasn't gained much. If and when you decide you want him active, Gomez would be my drop.

Yea but Savard was playing 3rd line...big difference than Staal lining up with either Crosby or Malkin...if he plays 3rd line then that's a different story..top 6 activate him right away

To each his own, but I wouldn't rush to activate anyone but a superstar who's playing his first game of the season in late December or early January. Not someone who might play with a superstar but an actual superstar.
