Default Anton Stralman

pick him up in your keeper leagues. Maybe a year away at most, but he is a legitimate stud in the making.

hahaha

B)

I know the Leaf politics better than Angus, though. Being out in BC he doesn\'t get half the Leaf hype I get in Toronto...and while Maurice is less likely to be influenced by a contract than his predecessors, the fact of the matter is that there are five large contracts on the defense corps - for this year and next - that will prevent anyone from sneaking onto the top two pairings.
If and when Stralman ever does, it will be in three years. In the meantime, we can see how he does in camp and the AHL and judge for ourselves.

Glen Healy called him \"80% Nik Lidstrom\".

Last I checked, Glen Healy was a goalie, followed by a broadcaster. Nowhere do I see him have the time to moonlight as a European pro scout.

You wouldn\'t believe how many radio shows Stralman was on yesterday! Three different programs...just at the times when I was listening!

thing is I haven\'t been reading anything or paying attention to anything in the Toronto media. All the hype from me is from watching him play a few times and talking with Swedish hockey fans the past few months.

On another board, I suggested the Leafs might complete a trade (or two) to make room for AS. Dobber shot me down. My thinking is that there are just too many NHL-calibre D men (maybe only of the 5/6 variety, but NHL calibre nonetheless) on that team.

There\'s a rumour Kronwall (kid brother of the other \'next Lidstrom\') is prepared to bolt back to Sweden if he doesn\'t get a one way deal this offseason. So where does he fit in?

I\'m not suggesting this is going to happen, but honestly, a trade or two involving White and/ or Colaiacovo wouldn\'t shock me. It would leave Kronwall and Stralman to play together on the third pairing. Kubina with Kaberle; Gill with McCabe.

Again, I\'m not trying to start a rumour... I\'m just saying that, to me, it wouldn\'t be entirely farfetched to see tradeable assets leave in order to make room IF AS really is the next Lidstrom-lite. I suppose we\'ll know by June 22nd...

Talking to Staffan he does wanna be in the NHL... but right now Toronto has no room on the Leafs or Marlies were stacked...

If u can see a Trade being made it might be Harrison or Kronwall... Kronwall to Detriot with his brother might not be so far fetched... Detroit can free up some cap space and they have a couple older D and ant exactly stocked in Grand Rapids...

Right now heres the system...

Leafs
Kaberle
McCabe
Kubina
Gill
Coliacovo
White
Woz

Marlies
Harrison
Kronwall
Moro
Sifers
Harrington

We also have Pilar doing something or other he wanted to hit Leafs next year...

Also Phil Oreskovic is outta JR and looks good for a spot...

Also Tyson Marsh an Dominic D\'amour should be returning...

Stralman could very well coem over get a few games and get assigned back to Sweden... we only secured hit rights... not figured out where to put him

just to add another defenceman to your list and complicate the situation more, Toronto also signed Reid Cashman as a free agent after his college season. He is probably not in the same category as Stralman but had very good stats in college and has good potential at the very least. Pilar making leafs again might not be out of realm of possibility either.I would try to trade McCabe for a good forward would be 1st option to make some room but probably no takers with his contract.

I watched Reid play and I wasn\'t impressed in the games he was in and Gilbert did give him good icetime 15 min or so a game... I\'ll say he goes to the ECHL... he\'s a Marlie Depth signing... little more...
