Great deal. Simply put, the Vinny era is over.

hmmmmmmmm sooooooo I made this deal back on the 23rd of December and Spezza played 2 games for me before getting hurt (he got me 2 points) but Vinny has been playing well ever since I traded him. Sooooo frustrating haha. Somehow I knew it would work out this way. That's what I get for trading with the guy who is chasing me for 1st place

I actually traded for Lecavalier right before he came back.

It's all about expectations. I feel Lecavalier's top output for a season moving forward is pro-rated at 70 points, which I'll gladly take as a fourth or even fifth option on my fantasy roster, while Spezza's is likely higher by 10 or 15 points, he just can't do it.

When Spezza's playing at a ppg pace, he misses 20 games and when he plays a full season, he's back at 70 points.

That's far more frustrating as an owner.

And when you look at Vinny's track record, he's always been a 70-point player.

He exploded the two seasons before Stamkos arrived but if you take out his low scoring rookie season, he's averaged 71.1 points per game.

1998-1999 82 28
1999-2000 80 67
2000-2001 68 51
2001-2002 76 37
2002-2003 80 78
2003-2004 81 66
2005-2006 80 75
2006-2007 82 108
2007-2008 81 92

2008-2009 77 67
2009-2010 82 70

He's a great second line centre on any squad. Just don't expect him to be Michael Jordan because he's not.

well, maybe you suck at fantasy hockey...ya right!

S**t happens, people get injured. This wasnt a bad deal in hindsight...Spezza always consistent in the past, Vinny declining. Just unlucky.

Lucky for me, Spezza (and previously Vinny) sits as my 5th or 6th best forward (depending on Kovalchuk's suckiness)

1. Stamkos
2. Perry
3. H.Sedin
3. D. Sedin
4. Kane
5. Kovalchuk
6. Spezza, and so on....

Definitely frustrating but part of fantasy hockey I guess.
