Simple question. Who do you prefer in a keeper league? Scoring in signature

Spezza or Lecavalier?

Simple question requires a simple answer. IMO, I'd take Lecavalier. Still logs in PP time, and has Stamkos/St.Louis at his disposal for assists/goals.

Lecavalier. I think he's a much better all-around player and his forward teammates are currently better. Plus who knows if he will stay on Tampa Bay, a new, better opportunity might arise somewhere else.

Funny one or two years ago we're talking about 90 - 100 point players with this thread. Now, they're both afterthoughts. I'll take Vinny as it just seems like Spezza has lost the will to be great.

Lecavalier is the most overrated player in the NHL and in fantasy hockey.

Thanks guys. I wanted to see how I made out with a recent deal.

A buddy of mine has been downright frustrated with Spezza lately (I can't blame him) and I have been very concerned watching Vinny over that last 2 seasons. He doesn't play with the edge that used to make him so dominant (and valuable in fantasy leagues).

Last night, we swapped Spezza for my Lecavalier.

I made the deal for two main reasons.

1. Going forward, I feel Spezza's upside is definitely higher. Reaching it might be a different thing but he's more "elite" than Vinny

2. Spezza is 3 years younger. I usually don't care about age in fantasy hockey as it's the dude who gets the most points/categorical pts that wins at the end of the day but in our league once a guy clears the age of 30 his trade value seems to drop significantly.

Well way to go with your gut dean...I like that you felt it was a good deal for you, and did it regardless of other opinions. Sometimes, that is needed in fantasy hockey, to ignore others and do what is best in your mind. Good job.

I also got rid of Vinny. Last week I traded vinny and S.Mason for Zetter. I couldn't be happier.

Dean, I like this trade for you. imho I consider Spezza the better player and at the very least a wash. Spezza is the go-to man in Ott. and Vinny is the third fiddle in TBL behind SS and St.Louise. I hope it works out for you.
