I was going to leave empty spot at \"D\" but include Avery when he\'s ready. I figure Avery would bring more value than having a 4th line Defensemen.

A fourth defensemen who plays forward!? are you kidding.. they just brought up another defenseman, which means MORE playing time on the wing.

You\'re on crack if you drop him... drop semin - he\'s got a good upside, but he\'s got the least amount of value besides bertuzzi, if you\'re sick of reading \"drop bertuzzi\"

Hilarious.

I just so happen so have the same situation as you.

I would drop Bertuzzi (however, I understand he was on the first line the other night - who knows if he will stick there - not likely)

I would hold tight on your situation and leave Avery on the IR for two reasons:

1. Smyth can\'t turn his head and possibly could go on the IR - thus presenting a solution

2. Avery had surgery on his wrist. You need a strong wrist for punching. Avery gets PIMs from punching people (besides his stickwork and he is by no means a heavyweight). Therefore, Avery might not be punching as much thus less PIMs - his primary source of value.

don\'t be in a rush to do anything

I would agree with Yardie...Stand pat for now and make sure Avery is ready to throw some punches. Secondly, let the Byfuglien situation develop for a couple more weeks. I am sure they will consistenly start to either play him up front...or move him back to D. Same with Bert...within a couple of weeks, he will either cement his spot on the top unit...or lose yet another chance there!

Default Drop Kronwall or Byfuglien?

Thanks Yardie, great points.

Stafford just scored another goal and I would love to pick him up (LAST 13 Games 6g 4a) not bad or Voros (LAST 16 games 6G 5A) and 47 PIM. Might take the place of Averys PIM\'s. Then who do I drop? Oh, what to do.

Nice analysis of Avery\'s injury Yardie, I think I\'ll hold tight on swapping Voros for Avery.

Maybe you can wait it out, see if smyth goes on IR and then drop Avery for Voros?

You guys are all right on and this is a good read. Sit tight and leave Avery on IR. By boy has to stay and don\'t rely on Bert. Also Semin is on the second PP unit and not pointing like last year when he is playing.. Never drop By boy as I think he is this years diamond in the rough with an exciting offensive young squad.. Listen to these guys they have nailed it bang on.
