35 d-men last season got 70+ PIM including a lot of guys who play big minutes w/o fighting. I didnt bother pro-rating other guys. So the # is actually much larger.

If you play physical at all, you will get some PIM along the way. Of course, if they are bad penalties, than thats different.

Like I think I would take Subban at 40 points + 80 PIM over Pietrangelo at 50 points + 40 PIM. But is it safe to assume Subban can get a consistent 80 PIM guy??? Nobody ever mentions PIM in these D discussions, this is the 1st time it actually really came into the equation, so now I am REALLY interested to see if Subban can be that next D-guy who can get those high end PIM #s (like 1 PIM/game average).

No I hear you, I was just saying that given his predicament, in the short term he may be trying to avoid getting penalties. In the long run he probably will have more leeway. I was talking more in the short term.

In terms of long term predictions, I would think at least 50 but maybe people are right and it could be as high as 80+.

Pietrangelo impresses me more and more each time I see him. He has great offensive instincts, skill and nice size.
