I have way too many defensemen right now (Green Gonchar Boyle Karlsson Rafalski Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk) also Streit on the IR
I'm thinking of trading one of Pietrangeo or Shattenkirk so basically i want to know who has higher upside, and quicker impact.

You do have too many d-men it seems although 3 are on the old side. AP has the superior PP skills so I would go with him. Shattenkirk is pretty good 5 on 5 with his skating ability though, plus he is on the better offensive team. But I just dont see him breaking out of that 35-45 pt range.

I dont think that you can go wrong trading either in regards to their upside. I am not sure your keepers status but I wouldnt move either if I could keep them and I would be looking to move one of your older D men like Gonchar

It depends if this is a keeper/dynasty league. I agree with JD88 though, keep both of them and trade one of the older guys for some offensive help, prospects, or picks.
However, if you are deadset on trading one of the two, I would keep Pietrangelo over Shattenkirk.

Both will be good defenceman on the PP and regular. I would give AP a slight edge in terms of skill but at the same time I think Shatts will be the safer more dependable pick.

If you trade one now shatts may get u a tad more because the board hype and hotrun he is on

Even as an Avs fan... AP might have the edge in talent and pedigree but Shattenkirk has shown a ton of poise so far. You can't go wrong either way but I'd have to go AP here but the slightest of margins.

Great split here. I went with Captain Kirk. But as the poll shows, it's basically a toss-up.

It seems Shattenkirk is making JML increasingly irrelevant. But AP has EJ around either to help or to impede his production... To mind Shattenkirk has the advantage because he won't have to share the scoring chances with another offensive defenceman (or compete for the QB1 job).
