No I dont think she is off her rocker completely. There have been some rumblings that Datsyuk wants to finish his career in Russia but I dont think it will be after next season, I can see him signing another 2-3 yr deal and then going back to finish off the last few years. Having said I think that a lot will depend on how competitive the Wings continue to be.

I think Detroit media is just gun-shy after Lidstrom retired and Datsyuk talked a lot about how much fun he had playing in Russia during the lockout. Some speculated that he'd sign a one or maybe two-year deal after this one and then return, while others went completely "THE SKY IS FALLING, DATS ISN'T COMING BACK!!!111".

But yeah, Datsyuk has said that he wants to end his career in Russia. The question is when and for how long he wants to play there...
