RNH's injury means MPS is called back up. The Oiler management are buffoons from top to bottom.

Only Ryan Whitney had more ice time than Shawn Horcoff.

Man Gagner has just been BEASTING it!!! I picked him up after his three point night on Saturday expecting him to go ice cold soon after (like all my waiver wire pickups lol), but 2G 1A in two games since, BOOyA!

1st period of the Oiler/Sens game and only Ben Eager has less ice time than Eberle/Gagner. Hall took 2 minor penalties and was benched so I can understand his low ice time but not putting your best players out on the ice when your team is getting steamrolled all game is asinine.
I'm done with the Oilers until ater the trade deadline. My frustration level is at an all time high with the team and maybe I'll watch again after things have changed a bit. |

I didnt see the first but I thought they played pretty good from the second period on. Sure they had a lot of lapses in their own zone but thats become the norm with this team. MP looked great and could give EDM a good second line if he Hemmer and Nuge can play together. Hall still has a lot to learn and has to realize that he cant burn the dman one on one but as soon as he decided to shoot he ended up getting a lucky rebound and won the game. I really think he needs to start doing the Ovie and using the dman as a screen and shooting it through his legs. He has a wicked release and needs to start using it. Eberle could have 35 goals at this point in the year if only he could one time the puck. The couple seconds he waited today proved to be the difference in a goal.
Overall I have to disagree with you once again Doulos. I understand your frustration but I think that things are on the up and up. You can slowly see this team coming together if only now we can get a decent dman back there to go with Murray/Dumba/Trouba

Seems about right for the Oilers these days. Paarjarvi has his best game in 10 months and he gets demoted for a chance to play with Belanger and Jones. This plus the re-signing of Andy Sutton plus the foregone conclusion of an Ales Hemsky for picks/prospects trade might have me looking for a new favorite team after 30+ years.

I agree its pretty ridiculous if Magnus gets demoted back to the abyss that is whatever line Belanger centers. Poor kid cant catch a break.
Still cant believe Philippe Cornet got 1st line minutes with Eberle and Gagner when he got called up, yet Magnus hasnt had a shift with Eberle since rookie camp 2 summers ago. Kind of torn on the Sutton re-signing. Eliminates a spot for Teubert or Peckham next year, but we need to win some games 1 of these seasons. Suttons better then those youngsters. Stick it out chuck; just pick an annual playoff bandwagon to jump on. Last year it was Mtl for me, I think ill go NYR this year.

Sutton makes an ideal 6th/7th defenseman. You need that kind of depth as proven by the Oilers injury woes this season. His re-signing is one small step in the right direction. Now the Oilers are just 2-3 defensemen away from a competent defensive unit. In other words, they are still far off but it is a step. If you consider he'd have fetched like a third or fourth rounder the Oilers were better off making the cheap deal.
As for Paajarvi getting the shaft. I have no explanation. I just hope he gets some power play time. The big thing for me is how miserably Smyth has played over the past couple of weeks. There is no reason he should be taking minutes from Paajarvi at this point.
