#Oilers were informed by the NHL that Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins would have been named to the All-Star Game if they were healthy
Too bad they were hurt, woulda been fun.

Lombardi just apologized on air for the way he handled the Fraser/Smyth incident. Crazy. Have to assume the league forced him to.

Yeah, or the Kings and Oilers are about to make a trade so Lombardi is playing nice...

This is getting painful again.
I'm starting to be jealous of the Florida Panthers - they were expected to be bottom dwellers again and a lottery team at that. But they brought in new management, new coaching, and made several veteran signings (not saying they were all good by any means) despite their wealth of talented young guys. What's the result? A team that has been competitive throughout the year and due to recent struggles it's looking like they may come up shy on their playoff bid. However, they're building a winning environment while maintaining arguably the best prospect pool in the league. Furthermore, they suffered through a boat load of injuries and made moves to compensate for that such as bringing in John Madden. On the other hand, the Oilers are fostering a culture of losing which is going to be detrimental to some of the young guys in my opinion. At the same time our team is decimated by injuries and 25% of the players on it do not belong in the NHL. So what does Tambellini do? Nothing - no trades, no signings, nothing - he seems content with another lottery pick and so do a lot of fans for that matter. It's brutal. |

I've stopped watching the games. I'm going to be at the Flames/Oilers game on Saturday, but aside from that I expect I'll only watch now if I have nothing else to do, and even then I might choose sleep.
3 last place finishes in a row should HAVE to mean sweeping changes ... but it is Edmonton. |

Hard fought win for the Oilers tonight. I know this will make some cringe but the Oilers had four forwards out there for the 4-on-3 power play in OT. It paid dividends as Horcoff made a slick no look pass to Hall for the winner. Check it.

I know I said I had stopped watching but I wanted to watch Voynov tonight and he impressed me a lot. I would love to see him as an Oiler.
Hall/Gagner/Hemsky look great together. |
