Need to ask the Blackhawk faithful as to who will be on #1 pp next season?

Not a Blackhawk faithful (muahaha I've infiltrated them) but I'd assume that if all of them are healthy you'll see Hossa Toews Sharp Kane and Keith on the #1 unit...that combo is daaaaangerous. |

That's usually the top PP unit with Sharp on the point. They do rotate the actual defenseman from time to time.....it's normally Keith but both Leddy and Seabrook see time there off and on.

Hey Shake, what are your thoughts on Jeremy Morin? Looked like he was on his way to a nice roster spot before his concussion, and then the shoulder injury (I think that's what it was at the WJC).
Brandon Saad has kind of taken over the surprise Golden Boy status in Chicago, but do you think Morin can get back into the picture? He looked like an NHL player (offensively at least) in his 9 game stint in 2010-11 before getting hurt.

That's exactly his main issue ( health) if he can overcome some health issues and remain on the ice he has every bit of chance to succeed as much as Brandon Saad does or at least close. Morin can play both sides ( LW, RW). I think Saad has the higher future over Saad. But as mentioned Saad can play LW and Morin can slot in on RW and leapfrog Mayers, Hayes and Frolik eventually. Again it comes to health with Morin. If he gets in camp, stays healthy and has a good camp, he'll climb his prospect status back up a bit. He'll initially most likely need an " injury" to happen to get back with the club though. So ...things for him are sort of in limbo at the moment. So IMO it comes down to him getting another shot when injury hits and he gets a call, if he comes up and produces then he'll be well on his way, if he comes up gets hurt or falters..well...its gonna be a long road for him. |

Too bad. Seabs looked pretty good out there as the trigger man on the pp at the end of the season and playoffs. He has a booming shot and seems to be coming of age in becoming the #1 dman on the Hawks. I wonder if JQ would be better served by splitting up the talent on both pp's rather than loading up on one.

Duncan Keith cannot run a powerplay. I thought this would be common knowledge by now especially to a NHL coaching staff, but apparently not. He can't catch a pass, he tries to do too much, and he has trouble getting his shot through. I prefer letting Sharp QB the unit with Seabs as the trigger man, but I'm just someone with 1000 posts on an internet forum.

There has been nothing done to believe that the PP will be any better than last year. They have no one in the middle, continue to play around the perimeter, and they struggle getting into the zone. The fact that they struggle as much as they do with the elite talent they have points to incompetent coaching. And by all accounts the coach that replaced Haviland was cast off from the Kings. As a Hawks fan, I have little confidence in this PP or the coaching staff as a whole moving forward.

There has been a Nick Leddy sighting!! Looks like he's starting to show up in Rockford. Slow start to the season, tonight he posts 1 goal, 1 assist and +2.
Brandon Pirri contiues to shine with another goal tonight. On the season he has 10 G 12 A in 30 games. Adam Clendening left the game in 1st period and went to the hospital with a jaw injury ( possible broken jaw ) |
