Porter actually started on the top line with Stastny and Stewart... Jones was pencilled on line 2 with Duchene and Yip, O'Reilly and Winnik were the 3rd line... by the 10 min. mark of the 1st period (at the latest) Porter got pulled off that line (no idea why really), but that earned Jones and Yip getting bumped up.

Just to add about the Avs... their defense looked much better now that they have O'Byrne back there and a healthy Foote. I did a write up on them after I watched them play the Flames and they were lacking that physical presence to seperate the man from the puck and be able to clear the zone. They did a better job of that tonight.

Toughness on the blue line looks better, now they still have to figure out that PP... I don't know how it scores, because it looks so sloppy!! Any time they went on the PP it seemed to kill the moment the were able to generate 5 on 5 (at the start of the game the Avs were tied with the Flyers for tops in the league with a +16 rating in 5 on 5 situations)

Great to see a non-Avs perspective on the team

Fair enough - good enough to know that he looks top 6 if he returns. Getting into 2 fer 1 season in 1 year leagues and trying to earmark potential replacement players.

Great analysis Dub!!! Love this contribution to the boards. There are no other extensive game breakdown posts on here so this is definitely helpful. Keep it up!!

Yeah I remember your post digging into it. I really liked it. I had done one in the past, but seeing yours reminded me how much I liked seeing all of that stuff. I think I gave you props for it in my "Why I should have my own section" thread.

I caught St Louis' lines easily on the ticker, but I was trying to figure out Colorado's on my own. It took me about halfway through the first before I saw some consistency, so what you say makes a lot of sense to me now. I'm bummed I didn't get to see Porter on line 1 all game.

Thanks for the input marty!

They also flashed a stat that 19 of the players were U.S. College products.

wow just saw this.. busy day but amazing breakdown. dont own any guys on colorado except budaj bc i picked him up due to injury to anderson.

but i do own steen, halak, EJ, and mcclemnt in other leagues.

Awesome stuff about steen and EJ. Steen has been onfire over the last few weeks (except last week but the who team was bad last week).

mcclement wont get many points but if your league counts FW he is golden. 3rd liner getting over 100 FW already.

great stuff cant wait until the next review.

Really great stuff, Duballstar.

I especially appreciate the comments on EJ and Halak. I tend to be an over-anxious owner when my guys don't produce as anticipated. Your report helped sooth the voices in my head screamin' "Sell! Sell! Sell!".

I look forward to more of these post-game breakdowns...very helpful.
