The player you should pick will depend on the kind of league you are in and whether you expect the acquistion to be a keeper or not.

I would take Franson if you are looking for a decent keeper. I would toss a coin between Montador and Lydman if just for this year. I actually think Montador is playing way over his head so I would likely take Lydman who may also be playing over his head but perhaps to a lesser degree. Kuba is injured right now and unless you plan to do an IR stash I would probably leave him where he is - Gonchar and Karlsson are the backend guns in Ottawa now.

Kuba's back and had an assist tonight. Id still be hesitant to grab him tho with Karlsson and Gonchar there.

i grabbed Lydman a few weeks ago in a really deep pool and hes been awesome, playing huge minutes. Anaheim has been a much better team since he came back. BUt he doesnt get the PP minutes and considering his career numbers, his current production isnt gonna last.

I'd go with Cody Franson. I still remember when he was on the WOrld Junior team and used primarily as the 7th D, but was playing huge PP minutes. and that team had great junior dmen like Kris Russel and Letang, so that says a lot regarding his offensive skills. Nashville just keeps pumping out quality defenseman.

I like Cody Franson. I think he is a damn good player even with the stack of quality D on the Preds. If Weber were to ever walk, Franson has potential to be a beast. No one else on that list wows me enough to pass on Franson.
