I've watched Gilbert for a few seasons now and I can say I'm thoroughly unimpressed. He's soft. Makes stupid defensive gaffes quite often. Loses lots of one on one battles in corners, average speed, below average shot, decent passer. When I'm yelling at my TV, Gilberts name comes up the most with Penner coming a close 2nd.

A couple of seasons ago I thought Gilbert had 50pt potential. Last year was a disaster but he had a nice run at the end of the year to make me think 50pts is still a possibility. I no longer think that. Just my opinion but I think he is at best a 30-40pt player. Maybe another Oiler fan can chime in on what they've seen the last 3-4 years?

I might take a flyer on Bieksa. He'll get you as many points if not more. He'll get boatloads of more PIMS. He might get hurt but it's a chance I would take
