don\'t let one guys opinion ruin our list. We appreciate your list that is what keeps us coming back. How about Kowalchuk gives us his list and then Dobber you can rip it to shreds. If he can pop off like that he should have his own list to back it up. Let\'s see it:whistle:

It\'s okay, I don\'t mind guys disagreeing with the list and certain aspects of it, I just object to the statement that it is \"awful\" as a whole. I have 5000 people look at that list and if they each made their own list we would have 5000 unique very different looking lists...hmy:

Yeah, when I have the time to compile a list, I will post it. Its soo hard to determine prospects ability. I\'d rather read scouting reports then look at rankings based on the players previous success in various leagues.

Jaymur, I am pretty sure Dobbers a big boy now, I am sure he can handle his own battles. I am just gonna laugh if your in my FHL and take Martin St. Pierre over guys like Letang, Sheppard and Berglund.

Like I said, I will post my own top (insert number here) list, and you can try and tear it up all you\'d like, I welcome different opinions, thats what makes discussing fantasy hockey so much fun.

So, at the end of the day, Joe Pavelski graduated in March. Kudos to Joe. I like Joe alot!

I am hoping that poolers appreciate that the Art of being a pooler is not a science. It is based on bias, circumstance, and personal opinion. Dobber might rate a player highly but you might see the same player differently. I don\'t agree with Dobber on all of his ratings but surely appreciate his insight and opinion.

Opinion has been made, in this blog, of Setoguchi having been a star performer in the WHL playoffs. I watched him in the Vancouver/Prince George series. He had his moments, at best. He wasn\'t great. So I will differ with the opinion in that regard. I did not see him in the Prince George/Everett series but understand that he was unbelievable. At the end of the day, I don\'t particularly like him as a player (based on what I saw). He is to inconsistent. Am I wrong? Maybe. Maybe not.

At the end of the day. Differ, if you will, but be respectful.

And so, back to Joe. Congrats on your graduation. Tear it up!

P.S. Please don\'t post your lists. We all have them. It is part of being a pooler. Please express opinion of players/prospects.

Agreed- I think the tone of the first criticism caught people off guard. I mean calling the list äwful on account of a couple names and so few rating points between them seems a tad unforgiving. It is evident there is a lot of time, research and consideration involved in the maintenance of this list- one that includes 200+ names.
That being said, I think a little dissent is healthy and fun. I enjoy reading posts like these as they offer an outside perspective on a topic we all love to argue about- prospects!
Anyways being a fan for a while here I have read similar threads ripping into dobbers take on the list, and have made the same indignant noises at my monitor to see so and so is ranked 47th or whatever- but if you look at them in terms of point value and begin to see how close the field is, it becomes harder and harder to fault. If you don\'t like a particular higher ranked player, for your squad that is your right, and indeed the challenge and joy of doing these pools- but at the end of the day this list attempts to follow a comprehensive formula with a lot of factors involved. We would all have our own lists based on gut instinct/intuition/incomparable scouting skills- but I for one love having a list like this to compare notes with.
Differing opinions are what make forums so insightful- but lets keep it tactful.
Oh yeah, and little joe is my boy too- superstar in training!
