So are you saying Karlsson, Subban, Calrson etc would be better then owining Myers?
I would think i have a reasonably good chance of trading Myers for any of those guys ________ BMW S85 HISTORY Last edited by Rajiabu; 03-14-2011 at 11:32 PM. |

Long-term, I would go: 1.) Karlsson 2.) Carlson 3.) Subban/Myers But the spread could be razor thin. I just think Karlsson and Carlson have a higher ceiling (by 10 Pts. or so).

Carlson, Karlsson and Hedman should all be better than Myers in terms of fantasy value. Doughty will be. If you want to get someone potentially on the cheap look ay Bogo, as the new Atlanta coach (his name escapes me as I'm writing this, Craig something) is a wiz at developing D (see Dan Boyle). Let's not overstate Myers' value, he will be very good, but he'll be better as a real player than a fantasy player, he'll never come close to 60 points, but 50 could be within in reach on occasion. Future Doughty is ridiculous, and not only because he's not of that calibre but because Doughty hasn't done enough to start calling players future versions of him. Subban will be significantly better offensively but he wont provide the all round stats. This is all relatively moot though as trading Myers now is likely stupid as the current value is low. You probably won't have to give up as much later when Myers rebounds. OEL could also be another option and given that he hasnt blasted out of the gates it may be a sell low buy low situation.
Lastly I really like Brendan Smith, I believe he has stud potential in a big way, he'd be in the NHL now if he wasnt in the Detroit system. Smith would be a huge risk though. |

Solid call. Smith is that swing for the fences pick. He could end up a beast, plain and simple. In fact, brace yourselves for the mad Smith hype next summer on these boards. It will be like McBain x5.
