Thanks for the update. I can only hope some rest can help it . I'm assuming if the was surgery related it would have already been done. Fingers crossed that he can come back soon... both for fantasy reasons and he is awesome to watch play (and the devils need him).

News: New Jersey is fearful that Parise may have suffered a serious right knee injury in Saturday's loss to Los Angeles, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. He won't travel with the Devils to Vancouver and will head back to New Jersey to be examined.
Analysis: The Devils are officially calling it only a lower body injury, but they're hoping it's not a season-ending injury.

Devils left wing Zach Parise will undergo exploratory arthroscopic surgery on his knee after seeing the doctor today.

“Zach will undergo exploratory arthroscopic surgery to see what it is that’s been bothering him because the MRIs he’s had were certaintly not conclusive and (the knee is) not right,” Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said. “There will be no determination as far as length (of time he’ll miss) until that takes place.”

Lamoriello said the surgery will take place “as soon as possible.”

“It’s not ligament or cartilage,” Lamoriello said. “We just have to determine what it is that’s bothering him. It’s been bothering him for a while.”

Lamoriello would not reveal which of Parise’s knees is injured. Parise said he was injured while skating during his summer training in August.

So I looked up Arthroscopic surgery recovery time.

Quote:
Arthroscopic surgery for severe ligament damage or knee displacement often involves ligament grafting. In some cases, this includes taking tissue from a tendon to use for the graft and drilling holes in the femur or tibia or both. Aftercare involves the use of crutches for six to eight weeks. A rehabilitation program for strengthening is usually suggested. Recovery times for resumed athletic activity are highly dependent on age and health. The surgeon often makes very careful assessments about recovery and the need for rehabilitation.

Interesting subcrazy, but I don't think that directly applies to Parise. This is just exploratory, so just looking to see what the problem is. Because they said there is no ligament damage, let alone severe, they are not going to be doing any ligament grafting at this point, if ever. Don't think you can read too much into this yet.

exploratory arthroscopic surgery could be them just looking. but if they find something wrong they will fix it. The time table for just looking is days. Finding something wrong and fixing it. depending on what it is a week to many weeks.
