Hey guys, i\'ve been offered Gonchar and Huet for Ward and Ranger. It\'s an upgrade on D for me, but, I\'m already fairly weak in goal with Price, Rask and Garon besides Ward. Thoughts would be greatly appreciated. We\'re in year 3 of 5 year keeper league.

Would be good to know your stat categories for goalies.
In regards to GAA and SV% Ward is over-rated and reliant on his high scoring team. Huet will put up similar numbers to Ward and the upgrade in D is well worth the trade.

I still like the trade...... plus ur D of Gonchar, Phanuef and Enstrom will be amazing. Your goalie situation will be hurting for another year but Price and Rask should be great starters in the near future. I have both on my farm team.
I would look to trade for a goalie but the drop from Ward to Huet is not significant IMO. I would wait until Huet plays a few games after his injury before doing the trade.

I don\'t think you need to make this trade. It does upgrade your D but is that what you really need? You D men are very good as it is. I would look to pick up an above average goaltender who is actually playing not injured. What are your other goaltending options from him? As nice as it is to get Gonchar thats not really helping your team tremendously. You may gain 20 pts over Ranger but you lose big pts with goalies. Don\'t always get blinded by the big names I would try to snag a big goalie for them two.
