Default Does anybody know the answer to this??

Who holds the record for most points (not just goals but points) over their career for GOALIES? And what is that number.?.? Zorro is hungry here for an answer.

Who are the only goalies to score aswell?? Smith,Hextall,Osgood,Nabakov,Broduer? Is that it.?.?

Dobber any of your GURU\'s into useless STATS like these?? Betcha Burnsy knows the answer..

I looked up a few names and narrowed it to these guys. Regular season stats only.

Hextall: 34 points
Roy: 45 points
Hasek: 18 points
Brodeur: 28 points
Vanbiesbrouck: 35 points
Vernon: 39 points
Belfour: 34 points
Moog: 24 points
Ranford: 24 points
Fuhr: 46 POINTS
Joseph: 31 points

I\'d have a hard time thinking anyone has more points than Fuhr(a 14 point season and an 8 point season included!), but I also didn\'t look at all the goaltenders around today and within previous years.

You know, I tried to remember every old goalie that I could, and most had an incredibly low amount of points. Then again, I could only remember 8, so I stuck with that projection.

Ken Dryden had 19 points. In 8 seasons. That\'s pretty great for a goalie.
But I didn\'t remember any others worth mentioning.

If it wasn\'t fuhr I would have thought Roy. Back in the twenties they weren\'t allowed to touch the puck so the record holder walks among us. Good work lockedge digging up the numbers. I can\'t think of anyone missing from that list that would have got some points...maybe Felix Potvin because he had some good years in the day. I love the fact Fuhr got so many by just stopping the puck behind the net and Coffey would skate the length of the ice, make a pass and they would score. Fuhr gets second assist.

Given that maybe Boston\'s goalies during the Orr days might have collected some points.

The only other goalie I thought of was Mike Palmateer - I believe he has the record for the most assists in a season with 8, but I think he has a total of 25 assists in his carreer and no goals.

Ah! I KNEW I missed someone. I always forget about Barrasso. What a solid goalie.

As for assists in a year, I think Fuhr still has it with 14(1983-84, in 45 games played!)

Nice find Dobber!
