i\'m dying for good defencemen in my keeper draft and i\'ve been thinkin really hard about pickin up alzner with my first prospect pick...
i\'ve got tonnes of scoring depth
but i was just wondering if anyone can help me pinpoint karl\'s upside
is it worth my while to grab him..?
or am i better off with ellerby or katic..?

If you\'re looking for a smart, intelligent defenseman who can anchor his own end and get the puck out of danger, you\'ll choose Alzner. But if you\'re looking for a future PP QB, you wouldn\'t touch him with a ten foot pole.

He\'s more Chris Phillips than Wade Redden, unfortunately. 25 points, 30 if he gets really lucky. But he\'ll consistently have a high +/-, a few PIM, and play lots of minutes.
