I\'m trying to solidify my goaltending, and long-term SJ seems like a better bet for better win totals and GAA than Philly.

Gionta also seems to be doing better lately playing with Parise.

Williams > Gionta, so this is really Williams / Biron for Nabokov, and that feels like overpaying.

I understand the desire to solidify in goal, but I think you are giving up too much. Personally, I don\'t see enough gain from Biron to Nabokov to warrant giving up williams for gionta. Those Hurricanes are hot and I don\'t see them slowing down significantly. On the flip side, I don\'t see Gionta coming up with numbers close to Williams. He is on a bit of streak recently, but I\'m definitely doubtful that it will continue for too long. Williams has a lot of fire power around him to make sure that the points still come. New Jersey is no where near the powerhouse of Carolina, and for that reason mostly I would stay away from this trade.

I also wouldn\'t get to excited about Nabokov right now since San Jose just can\'t find a way to put the puck in the net. With the lineup they have they should be top 5 in goals scored especially when you play 16 games a year versus LA/Phx. The lack of goal scoring support is really going to hamper his win totals.

thanks, i will look at acquiring another goalie, i.e. backstrom in minny.
