Also I would send him Smith. I was only thinking about doing this trade because I don\'t like using up 2 bn spots for goalies because we only have 4 goalie stats. What do you guys think of pulling the trigger on a trade like this?

If you need goal scoring then Staal is you man. Also if you can part with Datsyuk\'s assists than this trade should work for you. Staal is younger and has alot more time to reach is potential than Datsyuk does. And Staal has young talent around him that will only get better plus a veterans like BrindAmore and Stillman that will help him develop. The goalie situation is more complicated. Dipietro is a better goalie than Turco and the Islanders every 4 years or so put out an amazing team which will make Dipietro a phenomenal goaltender. Dipietro is younger and a better goalie, but Turco\'s Dallas stars are in first and he isnt even playing well. When Turco starts performing and Dallas in first. It should make for a lethal combination this year. A negative aspect about both goalies is that they are injury prone. In my opinion I would accept the Trade.
