This is hard to evaluate because I dont know what type of player you would get for a 2nd rounder.

In terms of keeper value i\'m hesitant on Bergeron, I personally dont think he will be the same player again. Lets just say that Bergeron and the 2nd rounder cancel each other out.

Kessel + Boyes >>> Sakic + Modano: Kessel and Boyes will put up as many or even more pts that Sakic and Modano this year as both those guys are on the decline. Sakic has 1 goal in 10 games and Modano is only of fantasy value in deep leagues.

I\'d take the Bergeron, Kessel & Boyes side for sure unless the 2nd rounder is a guy like Stamkos or Doughty.

Why do people think Sakic isn\'t worth much all off a sudden. The guy doesn\'t have a single bad season on his sheet for the past 19 years!!! He is in a mini-slump. Period! He most probably won\'t get to 100 like last year, but he is definitly worth more than Kessel this year. By far IMO!!!

Hitem: You have to realize that Glenn99 is in a keeper league. Sakic had a great season and will still put up 80 pts this season. I never said that Kessel was better than Sakic. I said Kessel + Boyes >> Sakic + Modano. The key to doing well is getting rid of players that have value before they dont have value anymore. Sakic is the best player in this deal but the players being obtained for him make it a good trade.

Here is the thing. Kessel and Boyes were borderline keepers for me, we keep 16. So I figured if I could get a good pick for them it would be good. I can turn around and get a 1st rounder for Sakic. (Already arranged) So it turns into Bergeron Kessel and Boyes for a 1st and 2nd Round pick + Modano. Maybe I can move Modano for something (not sure of his value) Keep in mind Kessel and Boyes were borderline for me. Or am I crazy?

Back to the question ... what does a 1st and 2nd round pick correspond to in your keeper league.

Side note: I would keep boyes as a keeper.

Yeah, I realise that....It wasn\'t directed at your respond only...I have been seeing a lot of people who think Sakic has lost that much value lately. I just think it\'s wrong. I still pencil Sakic at minimum 80 pts this year.

It would be pick #10 and pick #12. Last year it was Radulov, Bernier, Harding, Price. That type of pick. I also have aquired an additional first round pick and will likely have the best draft position. This gives me #1, #8, #10, #11, #12, #21. We have 6 draft rounds.

Those are valuable player available in the first and second round.
I wouldn\'t even bother getting Modano. Ask for a 3rd or 4th rounder instead.
I would give away Bergeron and Kessel but not Boyes for those types of players.

Thanks for the info. Karma for you. Boyes is that 50/50 deal. The guys that like him see big things. Some guys not so much. You are right, he will be the only guy I may kick myself for letting go.
