Thanks!
Sangs... 25-30. Depends a lot on PP time.
Whitney... 40-45. Him and Gilbert will get lions share of PP time.
Yandle... 45-50. Emerging elite d-man.

Time to pull the trigger and drop Khabi and/or Osgood for guys like Bernier, Schneider or Markstrom ? They are all available in my league and I don't care to be out of the money for another season.

Thanks
Yes! If you can get any of those three, go for it. Bernier will get more NHL games next year, and same w/ Schneider. Markstrom the best of the three.

Angus, thanks for doing this!

I have gained a first round bye. Because our goalie stats account for 1/3 of our total week, I am thinking about rolling with just Luongo. Quality over quantity. Horton was on the FA so I scooped him and 86'd my back up goalie.

1. Should I roll with more than Luongo?
2. If yes, who gets dropped: Franzen, Horton, Sharp, Morrow, Huselius?
3. If yes, who do you like better: Rask, Halak, Niemi, Turco, Varlamov, Boucher?

Thanks again for your thoughts!

Hey Angus, one more for you,

Points only keeper league, goalies get 0.05 per save, -0.15 for goals against, 1 point for a win, -1 for a loss, 0.5 for ot loss, and 2 for a shutout, so wins are really important. I currently have Nabokov as my goalie and am thinking of semi-rebuilding next year. I currently have Rask also on my team. What kind of player do you think I would need to get in return for Nabby.. Would duchene be enoughof a return? Or would I need to go for a guy of Parise's stature? I'm looking to compete in two years. Kind of a tough question but let me know what you think.

Thanks again!

Hi Angus, in my pool old guys on (relatively) cheaper contracts have value to a team that is a contender. Which of the old pluggers below do you see retiring this year and which do you think will play next year? I've put my thoughts so maybe you can indicate if you agree/disagree.

Recchi - still producing but 42 so he (finally) retires.
Lang - plays another year (even though he probably shouldn't).
Tkachuk - retires.
Selanne - has his 600 goals and probably gets a couple more to pass Kurri so he retires.
Rob Blake - ? depends on how San Jose does in the playoffs ?
Chris Osgood - plays another couple of years but with another team.

thanks

Hi Angus...thx for always doing these q & A's..In a points only pool and i am 9 pts out of first...I have 10 picksups left (i plan on dropping inactive players on the last day and grab any active players to make a last surge)

Currently I have a few players that haven't done that much...am i better off grabbing a hot player...

Sullivan ( 8 pts in 12 games since olympics)

Frolov (8 in 10 BUT 0 in the last 4..he had those 8 in 3 games)

Gionta (8 in 12 BUT cammy is back soon)

Bozak and Kulemin are new additions and are hot

FA's available are

Stillman (looks good on a line with Horton)

Filpulla (looks really good with zetts)

Comeau - been hot with Tavares

Cogliano

Colin Wilson - may get more ice time w/out arnott or will not having arbott hurt him?
eveyone of these players have 9 pts in the last month...but Stillman and Filpulla have done better recently

Yes.
Tough call... Morrow has turned it around lately but he is the weakest link there to me.
Halak.

Duchene should be producing at Parise levels in two years, but Nabby is a proven elite 'tender. You should be able to get a Parise type for him (i.e. elite player).

Retire, no idea, retire, retire, retire, another year or two.

Frolov is the streakiest player in the NHL (him or Kovalchuk).

I'd find a way to get Filppula - looks great lately. Same w/ Bozak.
