Default M Koivu

upside or should I expect 70ish points a season?
a few owners are after him in my pts only keeper league and I'm trying to work out a value for him.
are any of these fair offers:
1) M Koivu for Spezza
2) M Koivu for M Duchene
3) M Koivu, T Connolly and S Robidas for D Keith and one of Duchene or Spezza

I also have Elias. in a pts only league would he be valued higher than Koivu?

I'd value Elias at about the same value (maybe a bit less because of age/current injury situation) in a points only league so long as forwards are not differentiated into C/LW/RW.

As far those deals go I think all could be considered fair depending on who you are dealing with. Obviously I'd take the Spezza side in number one and the Spezza/Keith side in number three, but it's all perception. Spezza is a buy low so those deals could definitely be worth offering. For number 2, I'd probably keep Koivu over Duchene. I think both have similar upside based on their situations but Koivu is much farther along in terms of development and is obviously more proven.

In terms of Koivu's value, he should be good for about 70-75 points a year, but I think he can peg 85 on a top flight offensive squad. Don't really see that happening any time soon though so keep your expectations low.

Spezza is clearly undervalued nowadays.

I'd take him 10 times ahead of Mikko Koivu.

Ottawa is clicking right now, and for as much hype as we had for an offensive Minny, they average as many goals as they've had during Lemaire's years.

I like option 3 as well. Keith is a better keeper than Robidas. Depends how much depth you have. If dealing away Connolly won't hurt your keeper list, do it.

thanks for the reply!
am now sounding out the most serious owner for a good deal.
would koivu and connolly be too much for spezza? we only keep 8 so I would lose connolly at the end of the year anyways.

I don't think that's too much. You have to pay if you want to upgrade, and honestly, given Connolly's bandaid boy status this could end up being a steal for you.

Ain't too much for me either.

Get rid of the band-aid boy while he's over-valued.
